A practical timeline for reviewing warehouse QC, deciding whether to request a return, using free storage responsibly and preparing a consolidated international parcel.
Fact-check basis: KameyMall’s public How to Purchase tutorial and FAQ, reviewed August 8, 2026. The FAQ was published June 29, 2024, so the live account countdown, order record and current support response take priority if a policy changes.
The short answer: storage time and return time are different
KameyMall’s public purchasing tutorial says an item is inspected, photographed and stored after it reaches the warehouse. The same tutorial advertises 90 days of free storage. A separate public FAQ gives a longer overall order-storage period of 180 days, says up to 90 days are free and mentions an Extended Storage service at RMB 10 per month. Those figures describe how long an item may remain in the warehouse; they do not create a 90-day opportunity to return it.
The return decision is much earlier. KameyMall’s FAQ says returns are not supported after an item has been in the warehouse for more than five days. It also lists categories that can be excluded and says the final outcome may depend on the seller’s response. The useful working rule is therefore simple: review QC as soon as the item arrives, decide on any return before thinking about consolidation, and use the longer storage period only for accepted items that you plan to ship.
Build one timeline for every warehouse item
Start a dated record when the status first shows that the item is stored. Keep the product link, selected variant, order amount, warehouse-arrival date and QC images together. The official FAQ says there is a countdown for the effective storage period, so copy the date shown in the account rather than calculating an expiry only from an article. A platform status can update later than the physical scan, and policies can change after publication.
Use three checkpoints. The first is immediate QC review: does the visible item match the order? The second is the return decision: is a material mismatch proven, and is a request still available? The third is storage and parcel planning: which accepted products should wait for consolidation, and when must they leave? This sequence prevents the common mistake of treating a long free-storage allowance as permission to postpone a time-sensitive return question.
Use QC photos for visible evidence, not promises
Compare the warehouse photos with the exact option that was ordered. Check product identity, color, quantity, visible size label, front and back, major accessories and obvious exterior damage. For shoes, compare both sides of the pair and the size labels. For clothing, compare the selected design and any usable measurements. For a multi-style listing, make sure the warehouse item matches the chosen variation rather than another image from the same seller page.
QC images cannot prove authenticity, hidden materials, internal electronics, long-term durability, exact fit or a future customs outcome. They can also be affected by lighting, folds and camera angle. Mark an important hidden or blurred detail as unresolved and request a useful clarification when that service is available. A good return request is based on a visible difference from the order record, not on a conclusion that the photos cannot support.
Check return eligibility before asking for a solution
The June 2024 FAQ says returns and exchanges are generally possible but identifies exceptions. Its list includes custom or personalized products, items that require packaging or tags to be removed, delivered periodicals, used or resale goods, products bought from overseas, intimate apparel, adult products, seller listings marked as non-returnable, books or videos and certain opened products with special integrity requirements. A seller’s own terms can therefore matter as much as the platform workflow.
Do not assume that a request guarantees a refund or exchange. KameyMall says it will negotiate, while the final decision is based on the seller’s response, and it notes that a reported quality issue can be subject to seller verification. Check the live listing terms, the order status and the current support interface. If the item is outside the stated time or category rules, ask what options remain without presenting an old article as a binding promise.
Write a return or exchange request that can be checked
A useful message identifies the order, the selected option, the relevant QC image and the exact difference. For example: the submitted option records size 42, while the visible warehouse label appears to show 41; please confirm the label and request an exchange if the reading is correct. Attach the order selection and source-listing evidence. This is more actionable than saying only that the item looks wrong or that the quality is bad.
Separate facts from the requested remedy. State what was ordered, what is visible and what remains unclear, then ask for a return, exchange, additional confirmation or seller response. Keep screenshots and message timestamps. If the request is declined, those records show what evidence was supplied and when. Do not remove tags, discard packaging or submit the item into an international parcel while a return decision is still open, because those actions may change what can be done next.
Use free storage to consolidate accepted items
Once an item has passed review, storage can help coordinate purchases from sellers that dispatch on different dates. KameyMall’s tutorial says stored items can be sent overseas or combined with later purchases and advertises 90 days of free storage. Consolidation can reduce repeated parcel-level work, but it does not automatically make every shipment cheaper. A larger parcel can cross a weight tier, gain volumetric weight or lose access to a route because one item is restricted.
Group products that make sense together. Avoid placing a fragile item under dense shoes or hardware without suitable protection. Consider whether retail boxes add useful protection or only volume. Keep electronics, liquids or other sensitive goods in mind when comparing eligible lines. Before combining everything, compare at least two sensible parcel plans using the warehouse weight, dimensions, destination and current route restrictions instead of relying on product-card prices.
Treat the account countdown as the current source
The FAQ describes a 180-day order-storage period, up to 90 free days and Extended Storage at RMB 10 per month. It does not mean every item can be ignored until day 180. The free period, paid extension availability and handling after expiry should be confirmed in the live account and with support. Set reminders well before both the free-storage boundary and the final date so a payment issue, holiday or parcel correction does not leave the order at the deadline.
When several items arrive on different dates, they may have different countdowns. Track each order separately and base the parcel deadline on the earliest accepted item, not the newest purchase. Extended storage can buy time when another seller is late, but compare its cost and risk with shipping the ready items. The goal is not to use every available day; it is to preserve enough time to resolve measurements, restrictions, address details and payment before submission.
Connect the warehouse decision to packaging and insurance
KameyMall’s public parcel tutorial names package removal, reinforcement and insurance as optional services. The FAQ separately warns that simple packaging is not covered by insurance for damage and advises stronger protection for boxes and shoes. Read the current coverage terms before choosing. Insurance is not a substitute for correct packing, and reinforcement may add chargeable weight even while reducing some physical risk.
Write packaging instructions that match the products. A soft garment parcel has different needs from a parcel containing shoes, electronics or a fragile object. Decide which retail packaging to keep, whether corners or voids need protection and whether splitting incompatible items is safer. Save the submitted choices and the parcel record. If the final international charge differs from the deposit, the official tutorial says a later adjustment can occur after verified size and weight, so leave room for that possibility.
A final warehouse checklist before parcel submission
The best warehouse workflow is evidence-led and time-aware. Review a newly stored item before the return question closes, keep accepted products within their own countdowns and build the parcel from measured data. Do not let a coupon, approximate USD product price or broad route estimate override the live package record. The destination, contents, dimensions, packaging and selected service all affect the final decision.
Before paying international shipping, make one last comparison between the order record, QC result and parcel contents. Confirm that no item with an open question has been included, no accepted item is missing, the address is exact and the chosen route accepts the contents. A short check now is easier than reconstructing an unclear warehouse decision after the parcel has left.
- Record the warehouse-arrival date and live storage countdown.
- Compare QC photos with the exact ordered option immediately.
- Submit a specific, evidenced return question within the available window.
- Consolidate only items that have been accepted after review.
- Choose packaging, route and insurance from current parcel data.
- Save the final item list, address, measurements, payment and support messages.
Use the shorter deadline to make the first decision
KameyMall’s published information gives storage time, but the practical priority is the much earlier return decision. Review QC promptly, document any mismatch, keep accepted items on individual countdowns and submit a parcel only after the products, protection and route have been checked with live data.
